This trilogy of books through which I have seen clearly a man's journey, brought me to a windswept shore where together we shared moments of realization. In this octave of life through which we travel, those shared moments on that blustery shore resulted in one heart and infinite connection. To know that you know of the secrets of this cosmic creation, is as sublime as the exquisite chalice from which we both sipped the fruits of our oneness. These books tell of great times written from afar and yet unknowingly so near. The author has a thirst for truly exploring among the layers of strata from which our legacy is stored. The book and its characters feel and yearn for our surrender, in seeing the now from this actual moment and yet also from 500 years ahead. This intrigued me during our ensuing moments of blending and shaping together in dialogue; moments that would manifest in those endless opportunities that we harness today so that in 500 years time the very characters in this book will say "they made the dream come true." My grandson loves all things about Toy Story so he loved this book. The story is not long nor complicated. Just a basic Christmas story that teaches that presents aren't everything. I would recommend it.

Sweet book with an important message

While this book is shorter than we expected, it really has a beautiful message for children. It teaches them that presents aren't what Christmas is all about (doesn't have the biblical perspective...but it teaches them that real friends won't care if you can't get them a present and that you can still have fun together without presents. The kids loved this story and the illustrations are pretty great as well.

Enjoyable read, with glimmers of genius hiding throughout

First, a word of warning to potential readers...This book is NOT politically correct. If you are easily offended then don't read this. But if you are tired of overly PC books and enjoy some slightly warped humor (kind of at a high-school boy level, but with occasional humor with deep insight), there is a good chance you will enjoy this.

Some of the high points: Imagine a Marine drill instructor training recruits on an overly PC world. This alone was worth the purchase price of the book.

I also enjoyed lines like "All they needed was the right mix of thrust, luck, and a complete disregard for physics." This is usually an important part of any science fiction, but it was refreshing to see it acknowledged out loud.

Many of the kinks from the first few books are finally getting worked through, and the stage is finally set for several interesting possible stories. I look forward to future efforts. Characters are becoming more complex, and the plot had a few surprises.

Platoon F for Fantastic!

This book is absolutely fantastic! If I didn't have to work then I wouldn't have been able to put it down! I have only recently started reading John P. Logsdon books and he is now in my top 3 authors.

I have loved all of the Platoon F series. These books may be shorter than most, but they deliver a great, full story in each book. Warped Conduit has just the right mix of humour, action and "complete disregard for the laws of physics" that make it really stand out.

I cannot wait to see what happens to the crew over their next few adventures, and I really want my own Geezer!

You will not be disappointed with this book, unless you have no sense of humour or are so politically correct that you are unable to leave the house for fear of offending someone.

It was a fun read and in places I just had to laugh at the sheer ridiculousness of the situations in which these characters found themselves. No, this is not a serious read, but it is an entertaining one. The book pokes gentle fun at a number of classics in the genre of sci fi and does not take itself too seriously. I had a lot of fun reading it. True, some of the humor is coarse but I didn't find that it detracted from the overall story at all. I found this a welcome antidote to books I have read lately which seem overly impressed with their own importance. I think that if you enjoy Robert Asprin, you'll find this fun, too. With summer upon us, this would make a great beach read.
